Are there any relationship between interest in learning French and parental income in writing results?
It is exciting to relate the three variables: the variables of interest, parental income, and learning outcomes. More specifically, we examine the correlation of two things, namely (1) interest in learning and the results of the randomized picture story narrative text writing test for 4th-semester students at Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia and (2) parental income with the results of the randomized picture story narrative text writing test. The three variables include three aspects, namely the psychological aspect (interest), the sociological aspect (parental income), and the didactic aspect (learning outcomes). The relationship between interest and the narrative text writing test results is significant because most learning interests (high/very high) and test results are outstanding (very low error). On the other hand, the relationship between parental income and the results of the narrative text writing test is insignificant because even with low income, the total error of each student is very low (excellent category of test results). Thus, high/very high interest in learning supports learning success, but low parental income does not significantly affect their children’s learning outcomes.
