The Indigenous Dayak Languages of Mali, Ribun, and Bidayuh Somu in Kalimantan: The Distinctive Features
This research is on the phonological description of the indigenous languages spoken in Indonesian West Borneo. It is essential to extract how the features of the languages are distinctive. The method was field and descriptive linguistics. There were fifteen informants recruited to ensure the correctness of the phoneme sounds of the basic vocabulary lists collected. The collection was electronically recorded and phonemically transcribed for selection. Based on data analysis, it is concluded that the vowels and allophones of the languages are /a/, /u/, [ə], /o/, [ɔ], /i/, [ʎ], /e/, and [ɛ] while the diphthongs are
