The Role of the Folk Song Goddess (Liu Sanjie) in the Legends and Beliefs of the Zhuang Ethnic Group in Guangxi, China
This research article aims to study the role of the folk song goddess character, known as "Liu Sanjie," in the legends and beliefs of the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi, China. The study found that the goddess of folk songs plays four significant symbolic roles: as the ancestor of the Zhuang people, a cultural leader, a representative of fertility, and a goddess with supernatural powers. This article analyzes Liu Sanjie's role and spiritual significance, showing that she is not merely a goddess character but also a reflection of the concepts, roles, and influence of women in the sacred dimension of Zhuang culture. This aspect offers a fascinating insight into the cultural significance of the goddess of folk songs, or Liu Sanjie, as she is represented in the belief system of the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi, China.
